Arabian Sea Sunset! |
We're back!!!! It has been a very long, exciting, exhaustive year. I found I needed to pace myself and my schedule with care - keeping up with a blog....well....it just needed to go on the back burner.
Brian and I both went back to school, at Amrit Yoga Institute. He completed his studies and is now a Certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant. I completed my studies with Amrit Institute and received my Degree of Associate of Science in Ayurveda with International University of Yoga and Ayurveda. I am now a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner. http://www.iu-ya.org

We made the decision to go to the next level.....an we survived. It was touch and go at times as we struggled to maintain our practices, family life while fully immersed in our studies. We ended the year with a trip to India.
We studied with the Doctors at Greens Ayurveda and have returned home with an amazing amount of information on herbal medicine and traditional Ayurvedic healing practices. http://ayugreen.com
We are still processing all the information that we've learned. We will be sharing everything with the hopes that this will be a year of great healing for many. The plan is for more classes and work shops for our local community. I will share the grass-root kitchen medicine here on my blog, so that you can have the tools to balance your constitution.
Brian and I would like to send a huge heart felt "THANK YOU" -to all our family, friends and teachers! Thank you for the support! Thank you for understanding our stress and fears! Thank you to our new Ayurvedic friends and buddies who moaned and groaned with us through this process! Thank you to our teachers Dr Shekar and Dr Jain for putting up with our tantrums! Thank you for pushing us when we wavered! And....Thank you for the love that we needed to complete this journey.
This has been a very strange winter....warm, cold, wet with very little snow. Mild weather hasn't stopped the cold and flu season. So - I thought I would share a simple little Date-Saffron-Ghee Rasayana that will help to build your Ojas (immune system). Rasayana's are blends of herbs and spices that are full of antioxidants, boost your immune system, they help to rejuvenate the body and improve energy levels. They can be used before and after a detox program depending on the needs of the individual. This is a simple process and will improve with age. The Ghee will solidify this time of year so you'll need to scope out the dates with a clear spoon. You can find the recipe for Date-Saffron-Rasayana here http://naomikenealysbonusdays.blogspot.com/p/date-ghee-rasayana.html
Happy New Year!
Blessings to All!
