This is a wonderful treat/tonic that will improve your inner strength, fertility for men and women and is a wonderful aphrodisiac! Oxytocin in the Saffron, Cinnamon and Dates all promote the feeling of love....who doesn't need a little more love in their day?!
Ingredients-
36 dates - caps removed and cut in half
2 cups Ghee
1/4 teaspoon Saffron
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Cardamom
1/8 teaspoon Ashwagandha
1/8 teaspoon Shatavari
1/2 teaspoon dry Ginger
Grind the saffron using a mortar & petal add the other spices and meld together in grinding bowl. Mix spices with melted Ghee and pour into a clean sterilized quart jar. Add dates - packing them tightly. Bang the jar and/or poke with a chop stick to remove air bubbles.
Eat one date per day.
Optional - allow to meld for one month.
This is a very simple recipe that packs a huge punch. The base is Ghee which is considered both a rejuvenate and detoxifier. I found this recipe on a great site, Joyful Belly, and then added my own little tweaks. http://www.joyfulbelly.com/Ayurveda/recipe/Dates-Soaked-in-Ghee-Saffron-Spices/285
Ghee is pacifying for Vata - supporting and lubricating the bones. Saffron is a cooling blood cleanser, Ojas (immune) builder, is good for the skin, reproductive organs and helps to calm the mind. Cinnamon aids in digestion, helps to clear the lungs, it helps to regulate blood sugar levels, and is a reproductive tonic.
Cardamom improves prana, is a digestive, burns toxins and alkalizes the body.
Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb for stress, will strengthen the body and improve the libido.
Shatavari supports the female reproductive system, strengthens digestion and Ojas (immune system).
Dry Ginger burns toxins, is a digestive, increases Prana and Agni (digestive fire) in the body.
Sweet Spicy kisses!
Blessings to all!
Namaste`
